war
Savannah Nov 2013
war
a combustion of memories
fiercely illuminates the night sky
with a blazing spectrum of red.

amber,
vermilion,
scarlet.

underneath our last plenilune,
the distance between us narrows as rapidly as our
heartbeat's crescendo.

we surrender.

into each other's embrace,

diminuendo.

take me home
Savannah Dec 2013
i've always lived here,

yet as a stranger
that wanders familiar grounds
in eternal detachment.

desperate eyes, fixed on the sky.

i see my home
midst in the dark clouds,
closer to the moon and the stars.

too much gravity
and too little space here.

too many demanding arms
that grasp spirits of wanderlust
that long to escape.

from here,
i see my home in those
eternal fields.

lost in the clouds,
but closer to the moon and the stars.

freedom
Savannah Nov 2013
alone in a sunny town;
jump the fence, now obsolete.

feel;
the wind, the sun against
the sweat
that trembles as it streaks down
the nape
of your neck.

dry mouth,
flushed cheeks,
tangled hair,

the symptoms of electrified veins.

from cold feet
to burnt-asphalt heels,

from north east
to south west

for the hell of it.

run

run
run fast.

chase the sunrise.
chase it fast.

it shines.
it shines
through the gaps
of the city's skyscrapers.

lose yourself.
lose yourself completely.

run until you have found yourself in a place you have never been.

a place of absence.
the absence of the artificial.

encompassed in

a place of presence.
the presence of the natural.

don't know what to do
Savannah Dec 2013
my heart

is already
missing a million pieces
from the times
it has been
shattered
and parts of it
have been left behind.

because of you,
there are already
so many things in life
that i just cannot afford
to love anymore

and day by day,
my heart continues to lose
more and more

but i know
that there will always be enough to love you
and i hate it.
but what can i do?
