Secret

Your name, on my lips,
Tingles like a forbidden
Secret-- kept from me,
Kept from you.

The world around me seems to be driven
By the Sun. Sunlight, daytime,
And what can be accomplished.

Slow down, dear sisters! Your life is slipping,
Filtering through you slender fingers,
And you don't even know it.

It's the Moon that I love.
He holds my heart,
Now and forever.
The night possesses such a peace,
Of which day can only dream.
Some nights, he chooses
To illuminate my town,
Giving light the the shadows,
And keeping the city safe.

But other nights,
He plays poker with the Sun.
To bask in her presence,
Her light,
Renewing his own source.
He goes to the girl with the golden hair,
And there he finds restoration.

Those nights of darkness,
I miss my Moon.
And anxiously await his return.
I'm not quite finished with this one, and still need to edit it. This is it's rough cut, so let me know what you think. Hope you like it!

Flutter.
Your eyes flutter,
And you're almost asleep
My beautiful baby.
Some day soon,
Your heart will flutter
Like your innocent,
Sleepy eyes.

I see your face
Every time I close my eyes
Painting my dreams
The color of your disguise

I can’t see my face
As it is drowned out
By obsidian mirrors.
The torch is passed on
By gold hooded monks
Illuminating curtains.
The moon's seven eyes
Blazing emerald,
Steal the iris of the sun
Hide the squalid tree
‘Neath the Kevlar cloth.
Infinity spins on tip
Of quilting needles
Knitted by the words
Of the god of the Raven.
The river divides
To the left and right
Ivory towers o’erlook
The cat tail junction.
Soundless chords echoed
Echoed
Echoed, echoed
Echoed
Into whiskey soaked sponges.

Skeletons of the sky
Cloaked in a lush green tarp
Concealing blue myths
In sardonic ocean's waves,
A liquid crypt
With memory
Swimming, S w i m m i n g
In timelessness.
Tangled vines cowering
Over the rising tides,
Show all their true colors
Confronting shallow pools.

Redshift
little red,
you are here
to make it better
for everyone.
that is your purpose.
you are to make things
better
for your family
for other people
to make things
just a little easier
and if you are good
and kind
and nice
and fake
with a smile
cast
in plaster
maybe someday
someone will make it better for you
in return.
this is a cheerful fact,
little red.
why aren't you
smiling?
hasn't the
chalky water
and paper
dried
yet?
hmm...we might have to
reapply
tables they turn sometimes
