hands in hair
Sarah R Mar 2012
Bon Iver in my ear
but baby
you're all I hear

your legs between mine
our fingers intertwine

Stop
breathe
feel
see

your eyes burn into me
inhale
sigh

before we do this
fear
tear
smile
cry

your lips on mine
hands in hair

I want you to know

a drop of love
rolls down your back
you look up
my fingers brush your face

I feel you
you're in me
my missing piece
whole
home
love
Sarah R Nov 2011
I miss the days when life was simple
Care free children smile loud
Parents dancing in the kitchen
I see my dad steal a kiss
Hearts are laughing
Singing, harmonizing

The trees are breathing green
Grass swaying, hugging
The flowers stand tall
Welcoming life to all
Animals jumping, running
Moving, in love with freedom

First kisses
Driving cars
Growing up
Moving on

Easy peaceful moments
What a gift of memories

I hear this, everywhere
Those saying it,
They're so naive, lucky
Unaware of the jealousy
From those who live
Not missing anything
They've never had it.

We cry out in desperation
Embrace it, please
We need to live through you
Until the day
When we're able to say
I miss the days when life was simple.

Death is Living
Sarah R Oct 2011
Can one feel peace
While missing a piece
Blankets of calm
Right even if wrong

Moon and stars bright
Reflecting the sun’s light
Winds blow gentleness
Comforting wholeness

The sounds of the dark
All thanks to noah’s arc
Breathing in tranquility
Embraced by serenity

Overwhelmed by beauty
Realizing our duty
Tears for the lost
Hold them at all cost

When one with the ground
Our souls will be found
In spirits of others
The sons and daughters

Smiles of eyes
Hearts through cries
Love from hands
Loyalty in bands

Lifted from the earth
Frankincense and mirth
Existing now as a cloud
In raindrops he’s found

Soaking the skin
Reuniting within
Not a tragedy
But the force of gravity

Nothing is missing
Especially if not living
He had to leave
To help me see

If one’s mind is open
Just for a moment
Death isn’t taking a piece
It’s wrapping one in peace

Empty Eyes
Sarah R Oct 2011
Your empty eyes.
Have broken my heart.
They don't overlook,
But no longer see-
I'm caught in between.

You've moved on I'm stuck-still.
Your bright future
Overshadows mine.
Revealing how I've been blind.

You won't return
So I'm forced to run.
Repeating old patterns.
Lost in hopeful habits-Only
To feel exceedingly more lonely.

Your mind is made,
Yet I continue to wait
For us to be we-
Realizing today that it's
Forever you and I.
So waiting I will die.

Hungry Squirrel
Sarah R Oct 2011
Wind on my skin
Through my hair
In my lungs

Pups in the pantry
Sprouts growing
Controlled freedom

Smells of smoke
Smiles on our faces
A snake of streets

Lights in the sky
Skin reflecting life
Loose fabric flows

Sound waves tickle
Climbing up lobes
My ears are happy

Only Lonely
Sarah R Oct 2011
Stop.
Don't walk
Or leave.
Just wait.
You're mine
Only.

Please.
Come back.
Return.
I'm it.
Second chance?
You'll see.

Why?
I'm wrong.
With flaws.
You're right.
Each time.
Maybe.

Late.
You left.
Gone.
Forever long.
It hurts.
Lonely.

Time.
Changes you.
And me.
Future family.
We'll be.
Married.

Blowing Away
Sarah R Oct 2011
My short breath is lost in the wind.
The star shoots as my heart sinks.
I'm floating, swaying.
Laying flat, looking up.

Oxygen too heavy to fill my shallow lungs.
Tightness in my stomach, in my throat.
Darkness envelopes me
But you're shining. Forever.

Fingers stiff from the chill of the night.
I'm alive. The cold reminds.
I hear sound. Nature. River.

The sky in the water.
Smoke becomes the night.
My body is empty, deflated.
I drift, the breeze takes me.

No matter how wise a tree,
Eventually it turns to paper.

Sarah R Oct 2011
Inhale to create light
Exhale to pollute
Black lungs
Stained fingers

Mixed with breeze
Smoke and thoughts
Waves and ripples
Leaves they crackle

Higher levitation
Hearts wish
Fate wins
My mind fly

Trees are sloop
Branches raise
Unfolded buds
Wilted flowers

Everyone.

Broken Promise
Sarah R Oct 2011
Everything is the same
I can't escape
No fighting will
Is going to save me

Tears may fall
Only my shirt
Is there to soak
They drown me

Filling my clothes
Living in my lungs
No sound comes
From my screaming mouth

Imprisoned in my own
Home isn't tangible
Six summers
Separate us

Still I'm longing
For your return
You were my fort
My unmoving rock

But she crumbled
And you moved
Against your power
She stole our promise

I hold your heart
I carry it in mine
But it gets heavy
Please, show me

Save me, return
Everything would be ok
I tell my self everyday
But is that what this is

A cry for you?
A plea for Anything
To release me from pain
Or a wish?

A desire to live
Not here, but there
With you
In the sky

The moments pass
But not with ease
A brawl of strength
I've persevered though

Maybe I haven't wanted to
I'm called to by
Undying love
For your daughter and sons

I've lived too long
For someone else
It's time I live
For me, but can't grasp how

To breathe air in
And not wish it gone
Unable to understand
My purpose

Be my guide
Shine your line
I need your direction
In order to survive.

Nature's Life
Sarah R Oct 2011
Nature's music
Calms me smile
It's okay she says
The trees smile back

Green
Red
Grey clouds
Cover me

White blood cells
Are friends with peace
Red cells- they live
In me with life

Creation is all
Around It's here
Does it matter
How? Now.

Why ask how
When here is the now
Beautiful sounds
Earthly grounds

All I need is here
Now. Don't ask how
Don't ask why
Let your life live

Living is not life
Unless your life is alive
Beauty is only beauty
If you open your eyes

Music is everywhere
Sounds of the morning
Afternoon night
Open your ears-harmony

Society is big
On what is natural
Nature is natural
Open your senses

Slowly you see
Gently you hear
Softly you breath
Touch carefully

Open up
Worldly doesn't
Have to mean
Negativity

The world isn't ours
We are hers
She's naturally at peace
Never a mistake

Natural disasters
Aren't misfortunes
We invaded them
Choosing to be naive

Learn from her and
Live freely
I've learned my best
Chance at being fulfilled

Is sleeping outside
With clouds as warmth
Stars shine light
Sounds are my lullaby

Nothing is more
beautiful than the earth
At night natural free
No rules just be

Livings no longer hard
When sleeping beneath
The stars the moon
The comfortable clouds

Breathe her in
Welcome her senses
Make them yours
Grow into one

We have so much to offer this earth
If only we could be alive as she is.

My Giant
Sarah R Oct 2011
I have fallen.
For you
Below you.
I look up from
My bladed grass swing.
Being the shrunken creature
Your size frightens me.
Cowering in your shadow
My eyes are blinded by
Your shining boots.
I'm so in awe of your
Power. Over me.

Blindly I act
Feeling every step
Hoping to not upset
You- My Giant.
Just taking a breath
The force of your exhale
Knocks to me my knees.
Small for you
Groundbreaking to me.

Unaware of your strength
You freely move
I dodge dip duck
Not seeing the way
I fall every time frantically
Grasping at each ****
Somehow fleeing the crush
Of your oversized step.

I want to be as big as you.
Making you small like me.
