The Outcasts
Sara Rose May 2013
If there was an outcast,
One who never quite “fit in”,
And one person that was weird,
Who had no others to call friends,

If they could unite,
There would be no more outcasts,
Only those friends over there,
Holding the same umbrella.

Simply friends.

Frigid Ballerinas
Sara Rose May 2013
White speckles adagio,
         Battu,
           Cabriole,
Finishing their performance with a
                                                                  Pirouette
Into the shriveled
       Grass
Curtsying to the
          Sun.

Humanities Hunt
Sara Rose May 2013
This planet is roaming with beasts.
Constantly searching for their next target.
Surreptitiously scouring the lands.

We are all prey, hiding in camouflage.
We must be fast enough to beat our friends.
But never let them catch us.

The chase goes on and on.
The burden carries on for years on end.
Until another is captured.

Satisfaction is unattainable.
They will always want more.
But never let them catch you.

Nature
Sara Rose May 2013
The green veins twist and turn over the raw, moist skin of the aspen leaves.
       Tears of dew roll over
With the illumination of the sun
Bringing rain to the drained dirt

Below.

Fear
Sara Rose May 2013
Too dark to see,
Too far to reach,
Too large to ignore,
Yet we sit waiting.

Waiting for what might one day be visible,
Maybe on a special occasion be in our grasp,
Possibly shrink enough to ignore.

Now,
Hopelessly waiting will do nothing.

Hopelessly waiting will water the seed never intended to grow.

The only way to stop it…
                                  Conquer the unknown…
                Explore the depths of reality…

                                                                                                   Is to leap.

Shred the odious black hole that rages within.

Smash it into the mud.

Burry it in the ocean.

Suffocate it with courage.

And then, there will be no fear.                    Only accomplishments.
