We all get addicted to everything
Gadgets, drugs, drinks
Although it is a habit, it is hard to ignore
What we look like now and how we looked before
Then comes intervention, with everyone you love
They support you, but you just think that that is enough.
You try to run away from your problems, but they always come back
You can't deal with it, that's just a fact
I hate my addiction, I hate the noise
But I finally realize I still have a choice.

Hard as rock, rough as wood
I don't know if this poem should
Provoke you in a way that is made
for those who cannot express and display
But if you want to explore
Come my way
Take a look, these poems together are a book.

How can I say?
You have beauty, in every which way
Your eyes blue like the bay
Your smile brings light from gray
Your hair, as bright as a sun ray
And for those who find beauty in other things,
Nature, people, diamonds, rings
The stories of history, or life's riveting mystery
No matter who or what
We find beauty in everything, a simple thought.

The president has just made his speech
Everyone shouts, rejoicing with joy
A woman has just given birth to a beautiful boy
The UK singer has just been shot, how could we imagine?
Our thought diminishing, like burning plastic
A new era has risen, this we cannot flee
Working class heroes we all must be.

When I think of you, calm is my mind
And when I see you, I feel fine.
There's nothing that can harm you, you're very safe
You're free as a bird, or a flying kite.
Yeah, yeah, you're alright.
Summer is comin', the kids are runnin',
We lay down on the beach, the sun beaming down
The waves are crashing, the children are laughing
And you're here with me, finally.
The ocean is blue, the day is new
And we are both free, yes indeed.
Two kites fly up in the air, being apart I can't bare
We fall back down into the sea,
And all that's floating is you and me.

Alcoholic drinker, had a brain like a thinker
Wasted it all on beer, in the headlights he was the deer
He once was a man, who could dream but ran
Abusive parents, broken records,
Bad education, he ran away westward
This is the story of a bird who once could fly
But decided to drink, his life became a lie.

We took two giant steps into the wild
You looked scared, like a frightened child
I held you there, made sure you were fine
You looked up, your eyes sparkled and shined
We took two more steps, careful now
Stayed together, like a calf and a cow
Trees surrounding, our hearts pounding,
The leaves collapsing, the branches bowing,
Air smells of freshness and greenery left you breathless
We fall back down, making leaf angels
Your hair flows back, your body mangled
We take a second, looking at the sky
Holding hands, closing eyes, we both cry.
