The distressed clenches his or her heart in agony,
Someone ripped it apart and left it for dead.
The distressed wipes a single tear from his or her face,
Hoping, Waiting, Wishing,
For the returned of the beloved.

This is *******.

There is nothing to be beautified
Over the pain of losing your love.

It's ugly.
It's the reason for grief, insanity, hatred.
The glorification of heartbreak
Is what causes the heart to reach farther
For something that cannot be reached anymore.

Love is not pain,
Heartbreak is not beautiful.

Love is beautiful,
Heartbreak is pain.

Alas, the beautiful facade of heartbreak,
Is deceit.

Consistency Vs. Control
Sam Park Jan 2014
Inhale, exhale.
Sing to the small dot in your head.
Keep your diaphragm expanded.
Your body is your cello. Use the space for resonance.
Keep your throat dilated.
Small breaths for long notes.
Constant vibrato, but no shaking.
Approach the high notes from on top.
Consistency of technique.
...
Empathize, but not too much.
Reveal, but don't show off.
Control of heart.

What?

Empathize with your own story
Applied to the music you sing.
Reveal the love, the pain, the laughter, the rage, the angst.
But don't let it go wild.

No one likes a show off.

Singing:
All about consistency.
Singing:
All about control.

Naked
Sam Park Jan 2014
I was naked to you.

You saw me behind the attractive cloth that everyone sees;
Behind the textures and patterns I cover myself with everyday.

You saw through my skin and its color and smoothness.
You saw through the blood pumping oxygen my heart.
You saw though my soul, and all its layers.

Not the textured layers of worldly material,
But the layers I've hidden for those who had the courage to
Unfold me.

You saw beyond what I've tried to mask.
You saw me.

Naked.
