fragments
I find these fragments of you,
in places my soul cannot bear.
My mind conceiving a picture of you in every moment, creating stories of you, when you’re not there.
Filling the spaces you left,
the moments where I should most be alive,
I’m dead because of the memories of the past.
Let me free my heart from the shackles of this grief,
to lay aside the love we no longer have.
To pass by these fragments without the longing to make it whole again.

remember
Somehow,
even when I forget who I am
and I detest who I’ve been,
You remember me.
You remember the person I’ve forgotten,
the one that feels so long gone.
You remember the moments past,
but to You, they’re not much long ago,
for Your years are ancient
and are in the depth of time itself.
When I can’t remember myself,
and I miss who I was,
You see me.
