Parasite
Ryan Mcandrew May 2017
It used to feel like a child discovering monarch butterflies
Now the butterflies are fossilized
The ants colonize
In the form of words, we atomize
The fragmented refractions of light once romanticized
A heart like whimpering pines now petrified
A memory like tape worms
Infiltrating my nervous system
Our love is a parasite

A harlot to blasphemous design
A vulture preying amongst skepticism behind cloud over eyes
My sacred love now synchronous I’m with an abominable shrine
I worshiped your existence now I defy
The faith once possessed to myself I deny
The rose has withered
The thorns remind
The apple of thy eye
Is now the cancer of your sly

Human
Ryan Mcandrew May 2017
To be seen but not by the eye
Solve me with arithmetic
The question is why
As the answer that always be with you
I am science fiction, sci-fi
What's the world without enigma?
I am a photon of light
Gazed by eyes in past tense
The fragments oscillate at the speed of light
Perceived like a diamond
Tactile reflections are enveloped by the eye
Separating the past from the present
What's the connection?
It's not a matter of time
Beginning the equation starting with (Ry)
Find (an) expression to quantify I
The answer is human
It's to be seen but not by the eye
