Harvester of Light
Ryan Johnson Feb 2011
Highlight tomorrow, rewrite the stars that trail across our eyes.

I blink at you, smile, and remove my disguise.

You’ve got so much light inside, illuminating me with your touch.

You brush your cheek across my chest, and the bright golden flood is almost too much.

I beg night to stay, I've enough sunrise hidden here in you.

You blink at me, smile, and say “I feel it too.”

heart in throat
I forget to breathe when I'm with you.
And as the sun sets,
I wonder, when won't this feel new?

lips to skin
I always lose myself in your touch.
And while my soul catches fire,
I ask, will it ever be too much?

side by side
You tilt your head and smile.
And in taking your hand in mine,
I say, I think I'll stay here awhile.

time again
my beating heart set free
alone at last
fluttering souls we will be
you take my hand
for all to see
Here I am
You and me

Insecure and headstrong
    I am numb.
Scared to touch you-
to feel the warmth of your skin-
unaware of the restart-
   how to begin?
       again?
I am numb.
I am numb.
Unable to shake the dull achy hum.
I am numb.

tattered and torn
we are reborn
undefined and unrefined
