The quiet stillness of winter. Freshly fallen snow with nary a track to be seen. Frigid air bites at the skin. Wrapped in warmth, feet sinking into the plushness. Snow-capped mountains in the distance, a layer of fog surrounds them. Bare trees gone white with it’s bark peeking through underneath. The time of year when the suns warmth is welcomed, defrosting the icy chill. The snowfall is blinding in the sun, but without the solar beam, the grey tempers it. As dusk sets in grey turns to black and the white illuminated by the moon. Hours pass and the sun rises to brighten the morning and the cycle is renewed.
the sea is thy resting place
from which i wake
and to where i shall go
when my last breath i take
Victorian spirit
hovers over me
summoning for
all eternity

across the table
hands are bound
together forever
and all around

cold winds blow forth
and brings dark shadows
foreboding tales of
woes and great sorrows

haunting this space
and whispering thy name
inhabiting my body
i will never be the same

Victorian spirit
who are thee
reveal yourself
so my eyes can see
i have drank the milk of the ocean
i inhaled it’s briny breath
i have sunk below the surface
i wandered through its depths

swept away by the undertow
to live amongst the deep
pulled to bioluminescence
where the weird will always creep

i know now the treasures untold
i know its deep dark secrets
for i keep my own away from light
as i live down deep beneath it
he took me by the hand and led me down
into the water and promised i wouldn’t drown

the sun did shine then, it’s touch was warm
but i didn’t know it was the calm before the storm

i felt the tide rising and looked into his eyes
saw a glimmer of the moon, it took me by surprise

the skies had darkened, my blood ran cold
the water turned freezing, i was not foretold

his grasp, it weakened and i felt the ocean take me
echoed in my mind was his promise to not forsake me

the sea opened up and swallowed me whole
i wouldn’t have come if only i’d known
she looked out of her window then
she saw a rainbow, the light did bend
seven colors up in the sky
with all the birds she longed to fly
so she set forth with arms spread wide
took a leap, but only died
i feel the sense of impending doom
i feel it filling up the room
the ******* void will consume me soon
i will be imprisoned in this silent tomb
