The rain droned on for hours, it seemed
As if the constant showering of liquid bullets
Would never stop, and that the new constant
Of life was war.
You looked up into the grey
Vastness that now overlooked your every move,
And added one more drop to the battlefield.
You circled the field, pondering around
Your newly birthed pond.
The sounds of your favorite song
Began to fill your desolate space of a mindscape,
And the cold, iron chains that anchored you to the ground
Broke apart for you to sink into the infinite world of water.
