Shall I dismiss the coming of winter,
An old man bent with burdensome thought?
Shall I forget the fall that found me doubting?
From autumn weans a cold December,
the meanest month of all.

own no cross to drag through the rock,
just sit as a dog and shiver in the dark.

bite your tongue when heavy-hearted,
use the pain to advance some caution.

wild winds tangle thoughts confused,
summers storms blow but seldom sooth.

shiver at birth, a warmth now lost,
silence in sorrow, loss of the spark.

look close now, the ghosts have gathered,
speaking a sodden, vernacular language.

I
The words
drop from the sky
are tangled in trees
fall to the ground
and die
So I
desperate to create
make the mistake
of bringing meaning

Her hot blood whispers,
secrets in the spring,
whispers of her,
whisper to me.

Beneath a jealous moon,
Silky she lies,
within my dreams,
and while sleeping
the world snores softly
carried on whisper thin wings.

And out of the nebulous night,
whisper-like laughter emits,
I feel her smile,
I hear her wonder,
Her breathing, her whispers,
exciting my skin,
Always those whispers,
I listen in.…

I remember when spring once silenced me,
and summer did boil my blood.
I remember when fall fell scratching,
And winter took hold of my tongue.
I remember when night stood facing me,
Soft praying for the sun to come up.
I remember the dawn of my youth,
Patient I wait for my eve yet to come.

Let us escape in our wonder
let us paint our own picture
let us hang our great hunger
from frayed ropes of hope.
Let us harvest our time,
from such smiles divine
that our hearts may grow strong
with our plunder.

I don't look so ugly now,
since those many worlds have stopped
revolving around me.
Painted only in hues of a colorblind sight,
My colorless life.
Surrounds me.
