Write me something epic,
pour your soul
into inked stanzas,
help me to feel your heartbeat,
make me understand
what makes you tick,
see the starlight
in your veins.

I'm not insane
so use any words you like,
I can read.

The peeking sunlight
cut like razors through
my pounding head.
The aftermath of tequila
emanated from my breath.

Some strange woman
wearing a red butterfly necklace
was in my jostled-bed,
she appeared dead.

A box of half eaten donuts
was on the table,
popcorn was scattered
all over the floor,
the door was ajar,
LaBamba played on repeat.

My feet hurt like hell,
it felt like every toe was broken.
A scorpion tattoo crawled up my arm
as the alarm clock blared.

Jesus, it was a bad morning,
but the night looks
like it may have been worse.

I wonder
what the hell it must
have been like when
the stormtroopers came.
Surely it wasn't like
a visit from the relatives,
they had schedules to keep,
Star of David passes to hand out
for the crowded overland train trek
to the gas showers or the ovens,
no choice given.

And we think things are tough,
worried about the color of our socks
& writing poetry.

I'm no wild man,
just a fellow sojourner
travelling interstellar.
You know me girl,
we connected before
in a past life
over a millennia ago.

Don't you remember
how my skin smelled,
those words I whispered
when we broke through
the astral plane?

You told me I'd be back
for more, that you'd
wait for me
on the other side.

And here we are,
two poets lying alone,
still reaching for the stars
on the edge of tomorrow
in two different zones.

We continue
the search for
the golden rythym
we both love.

My kind usually brags about it,
****** & pillaging,
big bad *****,
chalk up another,
notch that bedpost,
I ****** me another one.

But what about those
others who don't' gloat,
hiding in remote thoughts,
stuffing their feelings,
feeling like
they're
more than
just a hard ****
& all alone.

It hurts just as much
as their counterparts,
who feel like trash,
a heart-broken *****
& are just as blue.

There's much more
than simple hoots
in an owl tune.

I hear a series
of complex notes,
subtle changes in
the inflection,
a slow steady delivery.

I feel the lonely spirit,
a couragous-fighter,
this brave-hunter
who rules
the night.

I hear triumph & tragedy,
delight & sadness.
I hear his echo,
his wail,
his solitary
purpose.

I hear all these things
& so much more
in his voice,
so loud
these lovely-notes,
hoots in the darkness,
hidden inside the din.

I wish you were here now.
I would whisper
sweet nothings in your ear
& you would smile.

I would give anything
to trace your parted lips with
my fingertips,
inhale your breath,
listen to your
heightend-state,
notice your blood
get heated,
go hot.

And to feel you trembling
with my magic-touch
would make my own face
crack a smile.

Our eyes would meet
& we would be silent
in our own thoughts.
That's purity in
every sense of the word.

Where is my angel's shoulder
when I need her most?

Silent spinning friend
You give me nice cool breezes
While I contemplate

Give me your heart
& I'll give you mine.
Give me your soul
& I'll curl your toes.

'Cause you Lil' Darling
ring my bell
& I'm a bit ding-a-ling
when my bell gets rung,
I want to ring back.

You'll love it,
the tinkling sounds
I know we'll make.

The Earth will quake
with the rockin' & rollin'
we'll do in the midday sun
& under the stars at night, too!
