Three little lanterns
Robert Stark Apr 2015
Three little lanterns
Hanging on a line.
One is blue, one is green,
Neither are mine.

Three little lanterns
Still in the air.
The last one is different,
Not quite as bare.

This little lantern
Has more color to it's name.

With hues of red,
And shades of yellow,

With splashes of orange,
And a white background,

This little lantern
Is brighter than the rest.

Three little lanterns
Hanging on a line.
One is blue, one is green,
The last is mine.
this poem is just a description of me. My lantern represents me.

The monster in the closet
Robert Stark Apr 2015
There's a monster inside,
He's just trying to hide.
Hiding from the world,
Hiding from himself.

This monster wants out,
But he remains within.
Within his realm of safety,
Hiding from himself.

He wants the world to see,
All that he can be.
Being afraid is all he does now,
Hiding from himself.

He wants what the rest have
But all he has is fear.
Fear is the reason
He is hiding from himself.

If he came outside,
Everyone else would hide.
Hiding from the monster,
Who was hiding from himself.

So he stays inside
So he's the only one to hide.
Hiding from the world,
Hiding from himself.
