If I lived Alone
Robert Fox Oct 2014
If I lived the life I chose
I'd be alone all the time

But if I lived alone and sad
You never could be mine

So I will live among the mass
Of people looking in thru the glass

Looking at my life, my choices
Always chiming in with their voices

Pain
Robert Fox May 2013
“Pain”

This pain I feel
Should not be real

The things i've seen
Made me terribly mean

Till all I felt
Was my need for help

As I call out in fear
No answer I hear

So I curl up in pain
And hide all the shame

Of being so wrong
For so very long

When ide realized my faults
I put together my thoughts

But now i'm afraid
And with tears i have paid

For again I am falling
And no one answers my calling

Dont be Sad
Robert Fox Feb 2014
Don't be sad
We have done nothing bad

The problems others cause
Will not give our friendship pause

Tears by the way side
Laughter will reside

Its alright, its okay
Our courage may fail, but not this day

Hold them in
Save them up
Remember the reasons
We cry so much
Let them go
And count them slow
So that you will always know
Why it is
That people cry so

Robert Fox Jun 2013
From Seattle
To a battle

I fought my war a million times
When life was hard ide make up rhymes

In the hopes that some one
Could take me away and run

To the places
With a thousand faces

Its New York and Paris
And a stop on the London ferris

But all i care about
Is hearing you shout

That im all you need
Together and in the lead

Racing through the skies so blue
Straight to the place that no one knew

Now were alone
And together we sink like a stone

To the bottom of the sea
Where forever we will be
The only ones....

Just you and me

***** paws and gaping jaws

More than courage more than love

Digging deep only to take the leap

More than loyal better than brave

Howl at the air because we don't care

The world screams wild wolves

But never forget

We're the wolves that run through the wild
For the wolf in us all

and you'll grow strong

I don't regret the things that I've done
I don't regret having fun

We all make mistakes
We all have heartaches

You will always have done something wrong
Waiting will always take too long
So do what makes you strong

Take the leap test the air
Or you never will know what's really out there

Youth to Last
Robert Fox Feb 2015
Blood runs down my arm
Then down my chest
But does no harm.

I've failed to last
I've broken down

This just shows the truth

Robert Fox May 2013
You had the key to set me free
So you opened up my chest to see

The heart that loved you pounding
Red and blue and very sad sounding

For though you opened up the chest
My heart you left inside to rest

As a small silver box
Still covered in locks

But never opened it rusted old
Till naught was left but purest gold

Swim against the rising sun
Learn to live a life of fun

Dont go bad
Because youll just go mad

With all the pain
So then whats left to gain

Save fear and doubt
Just take them out

Let them die
And try not to lie

As i have cried
And nearly died

From pain caused by you
With all that you do

Screaming Silent Fear
Robert Fox May 2013
“Screaming Silent Fear”

Silence is here it is there
It screams at the walls
And scratches in the halls

Its breath I smell
Its touch so cold
The madness takes hold

Then throws me into shame
For emptiness I fear
And darkness I hold dear

As night draws near
I lay down my ear
Nothing do I hear

So terror grips
As the void looks back
And chills the air

Make it end make me hear
The voice of man
But only fear do I hear

So scared I am that no one knows
I hold it all in
For fear of my foes

Dearest Friend
Robert Fox May 2013
“Dearest Friend”

Friends will come and friends will go

They are rare as diamonds in the snow

Hold them tight till love do you part

To let them change and bloom and grow

Love them now and love them then

Your dear dear oh dearest friend

Memories held dear are worth many a tear

But dwell not long lest they turn to fear

For love is strong and often kind

Though still it burns so often blind

We do not know how fast it goes

As it never leaves behind any foes

So look not back nor left and right

I’ll hold your hand through the darkest night

Still i keep calling
Falling falling falling...

So basically all the time.

But I'll never outrun these demons
As long as the dead are on my mind.

Yet somehow its too much to ask of anyone,
If they'll just be a friend of mine.

“Good Old U.K.”

The sky is gray
And the valley is green

Over meadows of clover
In the fields of Dover

From cliffs of white
To Irish bar fights

Theres no other place
With such a wonderful face

The people who stood
And symbolized good

Through past and present
Seeing a future so pleasant

We will see it someday
That good old U.K.

Her cities and streets
And towering feats

Back down to the lowest
Old village thats slowest

“Little Blue Box”

As blue as the sea, opened with a key
Bigger than it looks though we may never see

That rumbling box whose breaks are locked
I speak of course of Private Calls and broken laws

Of a hero once thanked and his little blue box
Robert Fox Dec 2013
Im not quite sure
I cannot be certain
And theres room for doubt
As there always is
Right after the final curtain

But nothing is certain
And im certain and sure
So surely i must have done something wrong

To feel no doubt
But still need to shout
How my life is concrete
But my confidence is quite obsolete

Its a problem, i know
But i still cannot show
The things that i feel
Because i promised not to go

For this life of pain
Is worth every chain
So long as those i love
Know that this love was to me a gain

My Heart
Robert Fox Jan 2015
There is a place
where no one goes
Where darkness is your friend

Where birds and bees,
and other thieves
Can never steal your heart

Now i don't know
just where ya been
Or where your goin to.

But i don't care,
as long as I
Get to go there too

The trees they laugh,
the clouds they cry
And all the others inbetween,

just sit and stare
at no one there,
at all the empty dreams

Wolves howl at night
But They've lost their fright
To all we say and do

And it makes me sad
When you are glad
That we don't care no more

Robert Fox Nov 2013
You made me so sad
But no one else was there
I hated you more than life itself
But no one else even cared
The pain you caused me was not your fault
But no one else would help me stop
All the time you knew my plight
But no one even stopped to talk
Never considering saying goodbye
But no one else could change my heart
You clung to me but never thought of how it was making me die.
For no one else will ever have, my beating, bleeding, breaking heart.

To hear her thoughts

Like storms blew strong
Through the stories so long

With brush and stroke
And pictured smoke

Spoke to all
In verse and call

Since sorrows are bold
And the pain was old

Her words showed truth
Most painful to youth

Now lend your ear
And you will hear

The colors of our world
In her hands twisted and swirled

To make us see

Robert Fox Jan 2015
Did you know
That beauty demands to be seen?

At least...I believe it does

I think
that all the greatest beauty,
comes from broken beaten people

I believe the breakers and the beaters are afraid.
I believe they see the beauty in us
before anyone else ever does,

And they get so terrified
of being lost in others light

So they beat them down.
Beat Us down

Those people who called you ugly
the people who called me *****

they saw the beauty inside us
and they were afraid

But lets be brave
Lets not return the favor
Our only savior

Is to be better than them
Is to show them that we,
will use the beauty inside us,
to shine a light on them
This is pretty terrible
but whatever
needed to say it

We are human, so we burn
Robert Fox Sep 2014
What do we do when there is so much bad?
(Slavery, abuse, lies, ******)
We know so much more than long ago
(Intelligent animals, cures for cancer, names of the stars)
Yet we have simply renamed our sins
(killing, hatred, hurting)
We say we don't do what the past has done

But in the end, we are the past
                                 and present
                                   and future
Its a cycle we cannot break
a lesson we cannot learn
These are the mistakes we will always make
We are human and will always burn the gifts that are given
and the lives that are at stake.
