Two broken voices,
singing the same song,
numb to the noise,
in a sea of lost souls.
In that single moment,
the music is playing,
he's keeping his head down,
she's up in the clouds,
And the moment is gone.

I'll sing my lonesome away, until my lungs betray me,
then I'll strum and strum until the strings won't play the,
tune my heart's been playing since the day she,
took it all away she, pushed me away she,
ain't ever going to tear my heart out.

You brought me now don't leave me here,
with nothing but a broken heart to steer,
I'm lost in matters, found by all,
picking up where others fall,
so lost in matters, that don't matter to you at all.

Eyes like oceans, washing through me,
Mouth like streams, runs quiet and quick,
hands like rain, running down me,
heart like ice, cold, hard and slick.

It’s the little things, it’s the beautiful things,
I can’t have because they’re yours.
It’s your name, it’s this place,
Going through the motions, stopped short by your face.
It’s this **** heart of mine, it doesn’t know that you’re gone,
But you’ve been gone.
There’s a chill in the air, you’re holding on tighter,
I smile, I’m falling in love,
Now you’re screaming goodbye’s, there's tears in my eyes,
I’m numb to the sound.

Monotony, the remedy so simple,
Change.
Obscurity, an outcome so eminent.
Estranged,
they don't get it, they're content,
and I know I'm wasting pennies pinched for my sole benefit,
and I know it's dumb to take the leap when I'm afraid to fall,
but the other path is straight and narrow and has no leaps at all.

At your smile, my seams undone,
Your skin,
a sanguine river runs,
from fingertips,
to lips, to lips.
