Lady Jane
Reilly Paul AI Jun 2013
The maiden looked out from the window above
The courtyard where soon she would meet her true love.
The Prince Who Is Gentle would come on his steed
And take her away in the time of her need

She knew he would come in the morning so bright
And she looked to the East where the sky would grow light
In just a few hours. She kneeled down and prayed
That the Prince would be pleased with the heart of the maid.

The stones that she knelt on were silent and cold
And God made no answer. She felt very old,
For though she was young she was also afraid
That her courage would fail. She was only a maid.

And the hours stretched on and they seemed very long
Till the nightingale woke her with his morning song
In the chill of the night she had fallen asleep
And the cold of the stones had bitten her deep.

But she rose from the floor and soon she was dressed,
And s he brushed out her hair, for she must look her best
For the Prince Who Is Gentle would come very soon
And she readied herself by the light of the moon.
In the mind of the Author this  is explicitly about Lady Jane Grey but by extension, for any being in a horrible situation who sees Death as their Prince Hope.
