For a moment

there is a gentle breeze

and my hair tickles my faintly freckled nose

your warm golden eyes reflect back at me

catching mine

the sun strengthens my small imperfect body

I reach to you

absorbing your skin beneath my finger tips

I notice your mole beneath your left ear

and the curve of your soft neck

I am overwhelmed by your gentle presence

for it feels like the earth is still

blowing away my gathering clouds

my noisy thoughts

you take me to a place so unknown to me

home.
for we all have untold stories
of pain and joy
that makes living and loving
unique to us all

might I tell you a secret
and I promise not to be frequent
be gracious in ones judgement of others
for we are all sisters and brothers
I look up and search the leaden skies

observing all of its fury

shapes of concrete destruction stare down at me

my heart grows sick

my anxious mind prepares for the fumes

that pollute our precious planet

I watch the angry faces and their fast paces

trying to disguise myself

I hurriedly follow

and just for a second

I feel like one of them

but my legs fail beneath me

and I fall deeply into the grains beyond age

until I close my eyes and remember

that I am so far from last November
bubbles hit her stomach
making her giddy and cheer
until she wakes the next morning
frozen by fear

squeezing her eyes shut
she counts to ten
sick from her gut
she’s woken up in the pits of hell

he gives her a fright
as he puts up a fight
from this moment on her life is forever changed
like everything she previously new
has suddenly been rearranged

but she knows she has the ability
despite all of her fragility
to escape this restraint
and not be lost in its taint

the truth that she holds
has taken years to unfold
for she is done being weak
it takes courage to speak

rising from the darkness
bright rapture springs
she has no more time for the heartless
as she spreads her burning wings

— The End —
