Vanilla mint chai
the taste attaches
to refracted light
from the gothic stained glass

Ornate banisters
mingle with the curves
of human perspective
human inspiration

Golden tunes
pulse my brain to desire
a crawl between literatures
into historical corridors

To escape the biting cold of the streets
to perch upon an easy wave
of knowledge and knowledge yet gained
that would be

living the dream
written at, what seems to be, a thrift store of books

Green sea eyes
as fixated as a hunter's aim
My desire to format a plan
to swim within
and downward toward their
ominous floor

Now

Now
Where you want to be versus where you are
is a vicious cycle of contemplation
The past is a delusion
The future is an illusion
Focus not on the unreachable
but on the attainable
Focus on the present moment
Be weary
though
of how tightly or how loosely
you grasp a goal
For with a mere distraction
it can become a particle of the unknown
time is not real. all we have is now.
