i always thought that this meant something more,
something with meaning i couldnt ignore,
the hearts unfold,
meanings erode,
skin withered away,
our souls left to stay,
lost in a fire,
our lives on a single wire,
loveless,
dancing in a gruesome fight,
crosses turned,
people to be burned,
as the people cry,
they know its time to die,
for the grim reaper
is the soul keeper.

She makes the sand,
the sand seep away.
Little locket on her chest,
with her steps a gentle sway.
Though her eyes cast
a tender gaze,
her fiery heart sets the sky ablaze.

Dry rain and dry puddles,
never will she stop.
'Til she stumbles to her knees,
the dusty ground, fiercely hot.
She cries out in pain
and laughs through tears,
a withered smile
of withered years.

She sees me.

Her faces relaxes,
her lungs give out,
her limbs betray her
and with one final strain she says:
*I can't hate.

Not about love or life.
Not about sun and snow.
Not about hate or politics.
What more ought we know.

Not philosophy, psychology or history.
Nor horror, adventure or mystery.
Whether on sea or land,
it will not stand
in the vast oak court of reality.

Dear *****,
These words I regret to send,
Without them I fear my end,
You're always with me in troubled times,
Without you I can’t write these heartfelt rhymes,
You’re 80 proof positive I have a problem,
Though, the more I seek you the less you’ll solve ‘em,
Without you in my life I cry,
With you I know I’ll surely die,
I know I’ll miss your warm embrace,
Please leave my life without a trace,
You've taken so much without return
This position you did not earn,
You entered my world with love lost,
Though your presence here is at a cost,
It’s morning now once again,
Oh how I wish I could abstain,
This whole night long all I think,
Is how I need just one last drink

We hit the prairie
with the windows rolled down.
As the sun started to set,
you took off your shoes-
your barefeet on the dash.
You lit a cigarette
and the glow as you inhaled
revealed marks of a very great adventure.

We let our hair grow long together
because it looked cool
when the wind
ruffled it a bit.

"I wish we could drive forever", you said.

I agreed:
We could have chased the sun for the rest of our numbered days,
because we knew it would be the only thing
we could hold on to.
Memories of Summer, 2008.

In my anxious sleep,
I dreamt of a road
that divided the ocean
into a Northern Kingdom
and a Southern Kingdom.

I started my journey from the shoreline.
As I stepped onto the path
my legs began to move on their own accord,
as if they were magnetically attracted
to their final destination.

I moved without haste,
with a tempo of a maestro
conducting the symphony of a chaotic Armageddon.

The waves crashed against the road,
but my feet were warm and dry.
The sea creatures of the deep emerged from the abyss,
but my body was at peace.

I saw the lighthouse-
the journey's end;
she gleam resplendently
on the opposite shore.

I sprinted toward her
through the soles of my shoes
down to the bares of my feet.

To be in her light again...

Only to be awoken by my anxious consciousness
in the darkness of the early dawn.

: I'd rather be in the middle of
nowhere
with you

than be on the edge of
everything
with anyone else.

I was a maiden , in the streets lost .  A man walked up to me .  But,he didn't say a word.  He walked with me for miles, without saying a word.   Then I noticed the man was deaf.  We found a house, on a prairie.  We lived there with love , and without a word.
