quiet soul Jan 2014
body sinking in
breathing in the smoke
you're a dragon
huffing and puffing
and blowing your mind
piano keys striking the wrong keys
this doesn't fit in
walking on tight ropes
over tides of the ocean
moving your limbs to balance
but the winds knock you
to and fro, you go
and you dive in to the deep blue
deeper and deeper you go
deep black seas surround you
swirling around, gurgling waves
drink in the deep all around you
lungs fill with water
and you sink
accepting your fate

She danced through the sun, smile on her face
For the man that she loved, she would soon embrace.
Trembling in fear and excitement, she waited
Til she saw his eyes and then was elated.

Tears welled up in both of their eyes
There were smiles and laughs of enormous size.
He held her in his arms, she held him tight.
Best end to an international flight.

warming up next to the mock fire
fake flames flickering
inhaling my cigarette
do you remember when you first had one?
taking a cigarette to be socially acceptable
standing in the cold to talk to a friend with smokes
now I sit
my only company is the appropriately sad music
"war in my mind"
running my feet along the crazy pattern in this **** carpet
things used to be simple
friends were easy to come by
now we're left with machines
and nicotine habits
