Looking for a vaccine to cure this deadly virus and
To those who are risking their own lives in treating
All who have come down with this dreaded
Disease known as COVID-19
May a heavenly ray rain down upon them
Opening their eyes for a cure to this despicable malaise

Now’s the time to be strong to show this world
We can survive this evil malignant calamity
Which comes in the touch with terrible peril
In a cough a sneeze a horrid malady

Bringing death so quickly to so many souls
Not able to say goodbye no tears even to share
Our love ones dying alone a heavy price which tolls
This insidious invisible crown of thorns does not care

Striking the old the young the in-between without remorse
It leaves its mark upon the land not willing even to slow down
Yet we obey the rules set up by those who set the course
Even then thousands die makes one wonder if the rules are sound

As of this moment, our doctors and scientists are working on a cure
To rid us of this malicious killer of humanity nonstop they test
From around the world seeking a remedy for the rich and the poor
For we’re all in it together as long as we breathe we’ll give it our best
  
So we’ll tread with social distancing, with mask and gloves in hand striving to make it thru another day
Praying and hoping a cough or touch or even a sneeze
Will not caress us today turning our eyes to a heavenly ray
Coronavirus will not end this world, soon it’ll be just another virus to take with ease
