Illusions
Proxy Evans Mar 2014
Smiles can go an enduring way, but hatred can root deep inside veins.
The halo you wear is simply an illusion.
Those angel wings are merely a facade.
I can see right through your intimidating sneer
You say your crown is made truth, but really it's made of the naive of your youth.
I used to believe your heart was made of iron.
It would have burned as the purest of all fires.
Now I see your iron shields have turned to rust.
The person I thought you were has turned to dust.
The image I seen of you in the mirror has started to break
Here I will pick up the pieces of the shattered glass
Your lips upon mine used to be my seal
Now I'm searching for any sign that you're real
Here I will await your forever enticing crimson eyes
For whenever I'm around you, I feel I could soar as a dove
Constantly embraced in the presence of your love

— The End —
