You've got me thinking of the word "COMPASS",
and of all the ways it registers.
Like the first time I
used it as a device (because you know what Goethe
said about all things transitory)—
—It was the dawning of a new centripetal
system within me, and
I can still feel the relief as it surged
over my skin staring up at my 'mental mechanic' in
awe and gratitude and wonder at
how any of this was possible.
"You mean, my body will instantly reflect the intuitive
awareness of what will and will not
nourish me?"
(...they are mere metaphor.)

I have this friend across the pond
As bright as clear-night stars
Intelligent and talented
And faster than souped up cars

But she has her flaws, alas
As all the best poets do
I know this to be a fact, of course
Who hasn't got one or two?

After all, it has to be said
Perfection is lack of character to me
So I'm keeping my eye on my talented friend
And watch as her mind flies free

You
I live in constant fear
and hope
that you might see
these poems I post,
and know,
they're    all     about
you
