Look to My Back

Look To My Back

If you look to my back
A story you would see
The hardships I endured
Moments I put my family before me
Moments my freedom was more important

If you look to my back
You will see moments less than a human I became
Moments less than a man I became
Times I hesitated because family was more important
A tree illustrated from the lashes
A design of my pain, ownership and pride

If you look to my back
My life ends there
If I ever knew hope it was taken away from me
A piece of my soul escaped from there
Transferring itself in my future generations

If you look to my back
Touch every inch of it
Feel the impressions I made from it
Absorb the emotions I gave from it

If you look to my back
Where the whip cracked and landed
Where I became ****
Where I got to the point of no movement
You would not change places with me

Look to my back
There is a story for you
A story of freedom, suffrage and sadness
A story worth repeating
A story worth understanding

Look to my back...

Stolen Identity
Preze Reese May 2020
Viewing what images I have of you
Only happiness is what I see in your eyes
Kind and pure what miracles you would have performed
My eyes drain sadness as I think of you
How dare they take a piece of my ancestors, again
My mind goes into deep thoughts regarding this matter
And like others I am tired
When will it stop we ask
What purpose can we serve being killed like animals
Are we the lessons that must be taught without classrooms
Viewing what images I have of you
Your life meant the world to some
Before very few knew your name
Now the world can dine in your smile
With all the difficulties amidst the world
Still we are treated like prized game
Scattered in the streets as if we are strange fruit
Onced lynched from trees
Viewing what images I have of you
I see the others murdered before you
Thinking if I am next before justice is served
What a time it would be to be alive to see peace
But a shame it will be
Since unable to see it you are

Hidden Treasures
Preze Reese Mar 2019
Due to popular belief, all homosapien life contains a treasure tucked away from the visual sight
to maintain a sense of normal
Most have been battered and ****** in an early tense, future and or present, that has damage the exit route for the treasure to emerge and introduce itself to life
I expressed my treasure that I can recall at an early age
Rapid with my text
Fun and fulfilling, giving everything I knew and thought
But like some, I became distracted. Engulf with the daily society and current events, I repressed my treasure revisiting it at inopportune moments
Some sing with their treasure, cleansing the souls of those who can relate to the words passing in and out of the ear
Some act with their treasure, giving the eyes a visual show of entertainment to please the soul and bring forth joy and laughter
Some create masterpieces with their hands, sculpting and manipulating material to construct beauties only achievable by talented palms
Some use words as myself to express the pleasures and discomforts seen and read about to produce jubilant documents to cure melancholy hearts
Many have gone without ever revealing their treasure, sharing it only in their company, isolated from the rest of the world. No particular reason as to why it was kept private
Few have impressed and obliged the world with their treasures only to be ridiculed and scorned only to praised once death has taken its place
Every treasure needs a muse

Coitus In Moonlight
Preze Reese Mar 2019
A compliment of your light was voiced twice
The dead end of an unfinished cul-de-sac
Served its purpose of isolation perfectly

Our demeanors were coy and chilled
We celebrated our knowledge of each other and our space
The night was unsure, the purpose was noted

My body was at ease with you, yours with me
A quick turn of my hip and my body becomes alluring
You are drawn to me like a moth to a light

I didn’t shy from the advances
I received it willingly for my body wanted the contact
We collided against each other with gentle force

Warmth covered my body from your masculine embrace
I melted a thousand times as I read your mind silently
The pleasure you seeked surprised every visitor who embarked for its tight grip

My body became your safe keep, your refuge, your domain
It held you up and praised your work
It stood firm while you pounded it's petite anatomy

The reward you seeked more precious than a ruby
The reward you seeked more valued than a diamond
The reward you seeked more demanded than gold

You continued your search while you lost yourself inside me with  pleasure
I became your owner, I owned you temporarily
I claimed your body as you claimed mine

All while the moon set a scene only for us to explore
Your reward transferred right on time
I received it graciously I hope I will forget it

A Slave Tribute
Preze Reese Mar 2019
Praise my ancestors
Forced to be trailblazers
Taught by fear and terror

Forgetting instilled customs
Living off of acquired customs
Battling intensely with the house ******

Mutated complexion gene
Forgetting the respect of the field ******
True to our roots still

Grounded...
Yet...

Freedom yells confirmation repeatedly

Come get me
I am here

Free the slave
Free the man
Free the woman
Free the children

Freedom yells confirmation repeatedly

Come get me
I am here

Slow and Steady
Preze Reese Mar 2019
Readily
I demand feeling
From your touch
Deciding our fate
Make me rejoice
Not from religion
To be together
Or not be
An option not granted
Release me in your sanctuary
I am seeking safety
Mostly ****** desire
Turn me on
Resembling your kitchen faucet
Allow me to flow
Wet your stick
Then your sheets
Control my scene
Elevate while captivating
Teach old positions
Inspiring *** changes
When men were women
Women were men
Exciting is your tongue
Your lips
Your mouth
Euphoric
A beast releases
Slow
And
Steady
You say…

Stupor
Preze Reese Mar 2019
Raw

From unprotected exposures
Giving life to my fears
Totaling my success to zero

My worth leaves my shadow
Refusing me attention
Lackluster are my strides

Distancing opportunities and potential love interest
Relate me to the unwanted
Homeless features mock my clothing

Still

Rising for the morning
Sunlight wiping my tears
Kissing my skin for good luck

Grinding with a purpose
Doing flips to turn my frown around
Smiling to use the word facade

My days will get better
Referencing a song
Better days gonna’ come

They Told Me
Preze Reese Mar 2019
It wouldn't hurt
But it did

To exercise my right
But I didn't

Not to cry if he left
But I did
Because he did

I was great
When I wasn't

To love
But I forgot how

Not to leave
But my future was calling

A lot of things
That they themselves
Wouldn't have done

Still Be Mine
Preze Reese Mar 2019
Please still be mine
Even after I am gray from age
Sad from loss of friends
Remain mine forever
Once all family members
Are buried and turned to soil
Please still be mine
After the hardships
Pain from heartache
If our love dies
If our children die
Sacrifice all of yourself
Pretend change has changed nothing
Between you and me

Crazy Mind
Preze Reese Mar 2019
My mind should be
Crazy after the beating
I have taken
No touch of hands
Could cause this
More of actions and words
I must have done everything
Except hand feed you
Or washed your
Body of dirt
My sanity drags behind
My soul trying to pull itself
Back inside me
Before a complete
Loss of mind takes place
Actions must be taken
Swiftly
Is there medication for me?
Ignoring my ideas
And acting on my words
A battle will commence
Between my mind and I
The winner takes
While leaving the soul amok

My Hands
Preze Reese Mar 2019
Soiled are my hands
From the touch
Of contaminated surfaces

Reaching out for
I grab hold of
Filth and dirt alike

But these are
My hands
So i cleanse them

Warm water and soap
Soaking them in
A cleaning solution

Removing impurities
Sins
And imperfections

My hands
Touching things not
Belonging to me

Representing my sense
Of touch

I reach

I grab

Holding on to...

When I'm Taken
Preze Reese Mar 2019
Months into the unknown future
Your head will turn
Ears will fall

Stomach become sour
Reactions may be severe
The reason will be thee

Remembering the advances I took
Countless attempts of desire
Stumbling at your feet

Dry tears **** my face
Head hanging low with fear
Buying fake flowers with water

Guilt will **** your day
Indigo faces turn gray
Rotten surprises will follow

Exempting angry lone places
Suffering from my appearance
Happiness laughs at your face

Your feelings once wanted
Leaps from you to me
I dodge

— The End —
