Poetic AF Oct 2015
There's no stress in the sunset,
No anxiety in the moon,
I can't see sadness in the starlight.
Yet that's all there seems to be tonight

You gotta see who you wanna be
Make it who you are,
You gotta be what you wanna see
Then the world'll go far

Thoughts swirling through heads
An ignored and scorned collection of all life’s thorns
Behind doors- we live lives of seclusive depression
Questioning the lives lived, the lucid lunacy in session

A surge of motivation to achieve the pipe dreams
Sown from the art works of others- the inner child screams
We can’t achieve.
He’s locked inside a cage of fool’s gold
I suppose he’d **** the warden if we weren’t our own foes.

We were told he’d come out but we’ve grown too old
The jail is locked the key was sold
I turned in it for green but as I flipped through the folds
No happiness was revealed just the cost of my soul

When I look back on my past
All I see are strangers
Unfamiliar faces
Cloud my memories

Portraits all around
Hung about my walls
The faces I remember
But the names I can’t recall

Its such an odd phenomena
every man convinces himself the world cares about his yada ya
To think the universe gives a single thought
to the cost of our lost friends
a departure we taught ourselves to
fight
the light
is no longer litten
we watched it quaver and waver as our destiny was written
we saw the disappearing.
sounding throughout our hearing,
and told ourselves what would be done
But soon the notes of our heart had been restrung
we waited, heartstrings faded
out of tune, out of motive, melodies flat
The rhyme scheme of life ended like- this.

When I look back on my past
All I see are strangers
All the familiar faces
of past friends I’ve failed

Portraits all around
Hung about my walls
Force me to remember
The names I wish I could recall
