My island is a destructive one

I wish to eat away at it’s demons,
I wish to make this island alive.

I want to destroy it;
make it beautiful again.

The palm trees will shiver in fear, in pleasure.
They won’t know what hit ‘em.
The quivering mountains will spout words through tears.
“Why am I changing?”

And I will stand at the peak of love,
and scream back at the land:

”You are becoming free!!”

The dangers will crumble away, the soil will melt into itself,
creating itself,
giving birth to itself,
once more.

It will crave for moments suspended in time,
to be

The Living Island.

And so it will become.

The Lord is my Shepherd
     PERFECT PROTECTION
I shall not want
    PERFECT SATISFACTION
He maketh me to lie down
    PERFECT REST
In green pastures
    PERFECT NOURISHMENT
He leadeth me
    PERFECT GUIDANCE
Beside the still waters
    PERFECT PEACE
He restoreth my soul
    PERFECT RESTORATION
He leadeth me in the paths of
righteousness, for His name's sake                                                     PERFECT WALK
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil,
    PERFECT CONFIDENCE
For Thou art with me
            PERFECT COMPANIONSHIP
           Thy rod
              PERFECT DISCIPLINE
          And Thy staff
  PERFECT SUPPORT
         They comfort me
   PERFECT CONSOLATION
Thou preparest a table before me
   PERFECT FELLOWSHIP
In the presence of mine enemies
   PERFECT TRIUMPH
Thou anointest my head with oil
  PERFECT STRENGTH
      My cup runneth over
PERFECT JOY
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
                                                 PERFECT   LOVE
And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
                 PERFECT HABITATION
I found this decades ago, written by the very prolific Ann Onimous, and I get comfort from it & hope someone else does, too.

The Girl Who Walks Past Me In The Hallways Everyday

I've noticed you from the start
The way you walked into the hall
With your head bowed low
Denying any eye contact
(You still do that, though)
And I wish I could tell you
How amazing you just look
So you wouldn't walk past me—
That same pair of feet
Feeling hesitant to leave

We are complete strangers
But I feel like I've known you for years
The way you try to hold back your tears
The way you try to contain your laughter
The way you untangle your earpods at the bus stop
The way you trip over your own shoelaces
And got mad at yourself
The way you make me feel
So completely into you

You are dull, oridinary, nothing special
But that's not what I see
I've always hoped you'd walk down the hallway
Looking at tired faces and weary eyes
Instead of rugged plain white shoes

The way I see, I could hug you tight
And hold you close, tell you
"Everything will be alright and I am here for you"
The way I see, I could tickle you
Tell you silly jokes and make funny faces
To make you laugh even harder

The way I see, we could share earpods
But you wouldn't even need them anymore
I can sing your favourite songs for you
And when you're tired, do not hesitate
To rest your head on my shoulders
I could keep you company on long lonely bus rides
The way I see, I'd tightly knot your shoelaces together
In case you fall for someone better

I can be the one to prove your typical
"I can never dream of someone thinking of me,
Dreaming about me and wanting me" quotes
wrong
I will tell you how much I want to be with you
Every minute, second of my life
I will tell you how much I wanted to dream of you
In my sleep everynight
I will tell you how much I love you
And just how much you mean to me

You,
The girl who walks past me in the hallway everyday
Hold your head up and look me in the eye
*"You look really amazing today"
