Pain has been both a friend and foe. It killed us, it shaped us. I have spilled my words, Full of selfishness and full of greed, Because I was completely blinded With you as my need. All I wanted was to be let in, And not forgotten, And be a shoulder for you to lean Lest I have forgotten, The ways of the Man, To be gentle and full of love, As If being a God sent, From the righteous Above. Forgive me, milady, For I retreat now, that's all I can say, As my bravery's out, To fight another day. -J

Penitence
