While the music pounds, I’m quiet thinking about you, Hearts racing but mine stands still, I thought I’d forget you, But I find myself wondering, How you are you, What you are doing, Are you enjoying life, Have you found someone new, Does he treat you like I did, Is there still a shred of love you still hold, So I drink, I dance, I smoke, Till I forget about you, The one who made me laugh, The one who gave me balance, An endless summer when flowers are in bloom, And leaves never fell, Then the music kicks in, I drink, I dance, And I smoke, Until the thought of you drowns out, By the kick of the bass, The burn of the whiskey, The smell of the ash, Even though I know you’ll be back the next time I’m at the club.
