you will go across the gloom //
without a torch
and the horrors of the night //
will be scattered
before your bare feet
for they have taken from you
your clothes, your smile,
and your shoes
just as they have taken from you //
the dread
those who did not believe
will fear the wrath and flee
and their caves will be sealed
and the forests will come back
to life
you will sing
and your smile will return
the sun will rise
and there will be no more gloom

I'm not a native English speaker, this is a reconfiguration of a poem I wrote in Spanish (not literal translation):
entrarás en la penumbra //
sin antorcha
y los horrores de la noche //
se disiparán
ante tus pies descalzos
pues te han quitado
la ropa, la sonrisa y los
zapatos
así como te han quitado //
el miedo
temerán la ira y huirán los
que no creyeron
y sus cuevas serán selladas
y los bosques volverán a
tener vida
cantarás y volverá tu
sonrisa
será de día
y no habrá más penumbra
