We always chase
Something better
Everything greater
Running a race with no finish line
Wanting more and more in every second of our life
I want to buy this
I need this
I have to have it
And we slowly get stuck in a loop
Never ending wanting and worries
Everything is a need
Never ending necessity
Wanting more having more
But still feeling less than before
More money more power more status more class
We go above and beyond running till our day
But forget our soul that made this way
we have forgotten ourself that made us humane
Judging nagging comparing
Tell others they are never enough
Telling themselves they are enough
Good enough but never enough
But we have turned into
Humans who are not humane
Isn’t that the biggest flaw
Isn’t that most terrible setback
Care kindness empathy
Has left our path along the bay
but that is what stays
When everything fades away
All things we hold
Started slipping our hands
Even those property and lands
All the needs we built around
Empty halls echoes, no child to be found
Because what we lost on our way
Was never meant to be lost that day
The kindness we ignored
The empathy we silenced
The care we held back
And in the end
We don’t regret what we didn’t have
But regret ,What we didn’t become
And realize it was never ending race
