A stillness
Soul searching paused
My fretful mind feeling strangely fine
But will it last?
Only time will tell
This re-learning…

I had no idea how strong I was

But now I know

The thought of a ‘bird-free’ meaningful me

When I was thirteen I would lie in the school field and gaze up at the seagulls, envious of their freedom.
Over forty years have passed and many ways I’m still that little girl, but now with more clarity.
I can now see that true freedom comes when I fly from the chains that I once mistook as protection
