Petals of lilies and roses, scattered upon bed sheets and open hands Peace spoke to me in a dream and whispered, solemnly “Have we met? I could have sworn I have seen your face before.” My body has been buried in sand until the sun kissed my lips and invited me to dance You lay with me as we waited For the dust to blow from our eyes. I decided, then to welcome the morning dew inside my arid skin and open mouth.
