There are people I have met Most don't fit into my life anymore One will resurface when I decide And some who never really belonged But every person taught me something One showed me beauty in sadness One was there when I needed them most One was my first love One was a reminder of my worth And one I will run to when the time Is right for me Each caused a pain of their own But each were necessary to my growth I couldn't be who I am without them.

The lessons people teach
There are people I have met Most don't fit into my life anymore One will resurface when I decide And some who never really belonged But every person taught me something One showed me beauty in sadness One was there when I needed them most One was my first love One was a reminder of my worth And one I will run to when the time Is right for me Each caused a pain of their own But each were necessary to my growth I couldn't be who I am without them.
Old friends, relationships, family. I get to decide who is in my life. I will no longer beg for people to love me. These people have hurt and healed me in their own ways, and only I decide whether or not to have them in my life
