I bundle up in sweaters
I hide beneath blankets layers upon layers trying to chase away the chill But the cold never leaves me
It sits in my chest a quiet emptiness a silence that no fabric can soften The fire crackles the world moves on and still I shiver because the frost is not on my skin;
it’s in my heart
