I've accepted, That I waited too long, To be friends with my peers, Before we move on with our lives. A lack of time. I've accepted, That there are things I cannot change, Mistakes that I've made, People I shouldn't have tried to save. A goldfish may think that its aquarium is the whole world, Until you introduce it to the vastness of the ocean. Perhaps, a new start's what I need. These people are outside my reach. A fresh slate, a clean plate, A new chance for a lasting friend. Will I have learned from my mistakes? I've accepted, That I'm not cool in any regard. Introverted to a fault. I've accepted these parts of me, Won't change them for just anybody. Finding out who I am, The writer, the poet, the feeler, the nerd, The desperate thinker who wants to be heard. I've accepted, I'll make more mistakes along the way. Trying to be a better human each day. I'll keep living and keep moving on, Till all the loneliness is gone...
