what will we do
without this site
where i might have learned to speak
for the first time
i might have found people to live for
stay alive so i could message them back
late at night
some of us walk on the border
our steps wavering;
i tried to decide whether to stay or
go
you could say hello poetry walks a border too
stay
or go
you have kept me safe
people of hello poetry
you have kept me afloat;
for that i only wish i could pay you back
(this time, literally)
i wish that my words were worth something
because we need this site
now more than ever
for whatever reason
we have to stay.
