winter’s first touch caught autumn mid-blaze copses of aspens ginkos and maples all radiant in their stoles of gold and red were heavy wet with snow it collected on the leaves and boughs and bent branches and bushes some snapped and shattered across roads days later it rained and rained and rained but most of the color still held only now do the leaves finally weaken release and blunt into rust last night the full moon tiptoed through the empty trees dabble in madness doubt yourself its ok just remember to return meet the day and breathe
