All too common Is the Red Rose Never to be An impossibility Unlike the fabled blue rose That no one's ever seen Even so, the beauty of a rose is told Through the skin of an apple When one is hungry Or the red of a lover's lips Through years apart Such simple thoughts separate the two From impossibility and novelty For a blue rose is something you'll never see And a red rose is something you'll never live without Because the same red on the petals of the rose Is the same red that runs through our blood

Impossibily Inferior yet Impossibly Certain
All too common Is the Red Rose Never to be An impossibility Unlike the fabled blue rose That no one's ever seen Even so, the beauty of a rose is told Through the skin of an apple When one is hungry Or the red of a lover's lips Through years apart Such simple thoughts separate the two From impossibility and novelty For a blue rose is something you'll never see And a red rose is something you'll never live without Because the same red on the petals of the rose Is the same red that runs through our blood
