When i was 6 i wanted to be an artist
a paper and pencil used to keep me entertained for hours
my dad told me i couldn't
artists don't make a lot of money
he said
when i was 8 i wanted to be a musician
learning clarinet was the most fun i'd had in forever
my dad told me i couldn't
musicians don't make a lot of money
he said
by 11 i was learning
i wanted to be an actor or a singer
they make good money
and i was good at it
dad said no
they only make money if people like them
and we all know how i am in social scenes
so now at 13 i've decided
i'm gonna be an architect
i've never had much interest in architecture
but it makes money
and it'll make dad happy
he'll be proud of me
