If the love I pour into you Brings nothing but quiet aches, Like I'm tethered to your heart That only pull 'til something breaks. Know that I mean no harm, I'm only here, still holding on— Not to wound, but to fight for us, For all that we once were And what's now gone. Know that I never meant to cause you pain. I'm just trying to save what's left in the rain. But before I ever let you go, I hope you remember what you used to know Of the vows we made in joyous days, When we believed in forever's ways.

Ache of Holding on
If the love I pour into you Brings nothing but quiet aches, Like I'm tethered to your heart That only pull 'til something breaks.
