How can you be happy, To say that nothing is wrong In your world, And not show it? How can the darkness Imitate the light? Of course even in darkness There is light from the stars. But people have to look Above to find it. Suggest it was a cloudy night. Would the stars be visible? What else, if the stars Fell out of the sky And the moon forbid To show its face? It is very difficult To find darkness During the day. And yet people continue To sit in the shade. Perhaps they are in fear That the sun will shed light On their own darkness And that the sun has become Their enemy? If you say you are happy, Do not speak it Into a milk bottle Where no one can hear. Instead shout it from rooftops. Slam doors, make any Certain noise that convinces Yourself along with others Who do not believe you. Many will associate Louder noises with anger, But many do not realize That sadness is a silent enemy.
