I laugh at life I'm not sure why Maybe it's a celebration I do know that certain events That seem so serious or infinite Seem so silly in hindsight But I laugh in the moment too Sometimes With derision As if the current manifestation Is a joyful kite Compared to the monoliths Weathering in my memory Maybe I'm just at a loss for words Because so many conclusions About the mundane or major Or minute or marvelous Are rooted in materialism So what could I say? I am fully aware That none of this can be enjoyed forever So I laugh Because I'm just glad That it happened at all I suppose the celebration Isn't always a laugh But maybe a "wow!" or "really?" I never understood The phrase "suspend your disbelief" But I assume That it allows you to appreciate a story And forgive those that are Out of touch With reality But at this rate Its every single one of us
