i have scars
not self-harm scars though
on the palms of my hands
i have scars
from digging my fingernails into my skin
when i get scared or angry
on my knees
i have scars
from when I'd fall
and no one would be there to catch me
in my heart
i have scars
from being torn at and broken
over and over again
these are the scars
that no one sees
