i fell asleep that one day between your arms and evening's ray but i'd like to wake up now and stop dreaming if i knew how tell me these tears weren't real and neither the wounds that i feel when you left and walked away tell me you'll come when i wake and stay wake me up if not today promise me you will someday when i exit moonlight's den i know you'd smile at me again it would glow soft with sunlight's beam then i'd tell you, "i had a funny dream" til' i lay awake i'll ask for a favour that you could take hold me while i sleep so i dont stumble and tumble and fumble and fall too deep
