I took a pen to my skin And the ink stained more Than the usual red splatters. I took an ice cube to my skin And the cold numbed me more Than the daily meticulous cutting. I took a rubber band to my skin And the snapping stung more Than the soap suds on fresh cuts. I took a blade to my skin And the deep gashes made me feel more Than I have ever felt before.
