Oh brother mine, why don’t you see? This is the life I’ve chosen to lead Oh brother mine, please understand Remember that time when you were three? That man who snatched you from the playground Remember who rescued you? Now it’s my turn To be in that place. To rescue the innocent To keep people safe Oh brother mine, don’t criticize This gun at my waist? It’s not to fight This badge on my chest. This badge in my hand It’s an honor for me to wear Oh brother mine, please listen to me Dear brother, remember When you were three?

So, I've took a creative writing class and we did a unit on poetry? This is one of the free verse poems I did! I don't know where I got the idea but it's about someone who wants to be a police officer and their brother doesn't want them to because he's scared.
