Never will I forget what you did to me, With patience and love, you mended my wings. You were ready to let me fly free, But I knew my heart would only sink. You gave me the gift of independence, From my heavy and deeply rooted woes. Life is wonderful, no longer am I broken, I understand why you want to let me go. But being with you, I learned a few things-- To love truly means not to love selfishly. I wasn't meant for you, your mind repeats, I'll fly away, but my heart is yours to keep.

Yours To Keep
