Growing up so happy and free
knowing who I wanted to be
as life went on people had changed
to ways I never thought
as I was finding myself, someone found me
I opened up and let him in without knowing a thing
I was so happy until the day that everything went so wrong
he left me and I felt so alone
it wasn’t fair
now I was sad and mad all at the same time
I would always cry at the drop of a dime
my life has changed since then
as I hide my emotions and say I’m okay
I realize that it’s not worth it
this life has taught me more than to be upset
I hope to find someone like you again who will listen
who won’t just leave again
but for now I’ll choose to be happy and free like I used to be
I know that God gave me this life for a reason
so I can live
