I swim through the roses
Blooming among the dying
Leaving the stars behind me
Taking a harsher path.
Life is nothing but a lover
Doesn’t last after all
The only love that matters
Is the one we leave behind.
Suppose for just one second
Or perhaps a minute more will do
That hope is only beauty
When it burns a mark in you.
Time to continue on
For another night
But how do flowers grow
In the winter’s shadows?
